Are subscription models becoming a better choice than one-time purchases?

I've noticed that more companies are moving away from one-time purchases and introducing monthly or yearly subscriptions instead. Do you think this approach actually creates better value for customers, or does it mainly benefit businesses? I'm curious whether people feel more satisfied with ongoing access or still prefer owning products outright.

It really depends on the product and how often you use it. For services that receive frequent updates or new content, subscriptions can make sense because they spread costs over time and keep everything current. I recently read an interesting perspective on https://thereaderstone.com/why-subscription-businesses-are-replacing-one-time-sales/ , which explains why many companies are shifting toward recurring revenue. As long as pricing stays fair and customers can cancel easily, I think both businesses and users can benefit.
